Sedona's classic sunset spot and a well-known vortex site, with an optional loop hike.
Airport Mesa rises between Uptown and West Sedona. Halfway up Airport Road is a small free lot at the vortex site, a short climb to a knoll with wide views. At the top, the Sedona Airport Scenic Overlook has a paid lot and is a favourite sunset viewpoint.
If you want a hike, the Airport Loop circles the mesa: about 3.5 miles according to the Forest Service. The Sedona View Trail links the overlook to the vortex lot in about 0.7 miles.
